I don't want to be left behind!

Does anyone else feel like the world is changing too rapidly some days and that it's a constant challenge to stay ahead? I don't want to be left behind! Every time we want to level up in life it means we're going to have to have to face some resistance to get to the next level. We can procrastinate in the level we're at but procrastinating here isn't going to move us to where we want to be.

I'll be completely honest over the last decade I've spent a good deal of time procrastinating and as I look back I keep thinking how much further I would be if I had just got moving. I can't go back and fix the last 10 years but sure as heck can make the next 10 spectacular! So how does one go about it, making massive changes? About two years ago I gave myself a swift kick in the ass and started consuming everything I could on how other people had changed their lives. I figured if I can learn what they did over many years, maybe if I applied it to my life, I could speed things up.

Important things I have learned in the last year:

  • Life happens for us, not to us! All of our roughest days make for a great backstory, but they don't define who we can become. We do!

  • My state; the way I show up every day is 100% my choice. No one can make me feel anything. This is sometimes a really hard concept for most people because when you come to this realization there is no one to blame for how you feel. Your feelings are yours alone.

  • I am in control of my future and I don't want to squander the time I have left. You do not get infinite time on this earth so live your life to the fullest, chase your dreams, live life on your terms, be who you want to be. I don't have to be miserable. I don't have to be uncomfortable. I have options and the power to change!

  • Sometime the resistance I'm facing is in fact fear... somewhere along the way we bought into society telling us we have to be a certain way, look a certain way, do specific things in order to be 'successful'. Forget what society thinks, flip off the naysayers, and get moving on being your authentic self... this is me, this is my time, this is my story, and I'm in charge!
